Community Education plays a key role in supporting youth through focused programs and opportunities. We provide more than just education and enrichment, we help contribute to a sound and thriving community by providing young people with engaging activities that help them grow.

Enrichment
Providing fun activities and learning opportunities for children year-round; after-school, in the evenings and on the weekends; to enhance your child's academic and social experiences while out of school.
Athletics
Elementary and middle school athletic programs are supervised and led by certified coaches, licensed teachers or knowledgeable staff who emphasize skill development, participation, teamwork, and respect for others. Community Education also offers camps and clinics to help students gear up for the athletic programs offered at South Washington County high schools.
Kids Club
Kids Club (grades K-3) and Upgrade (grades 4-5) is the school district school-age child care program, open to all South Washington County Schools students and provided at all elementary school sites throughout the district. Out-of-School Time (OST) care is available before and after school and all day on school release days, including winter, spring and summer breaks.
Swimming
Swimming and water safety is a skill that your children will use for life! SoWashCo Schools Community Education offers swimming lessons to support youth with a wide range of skill levels.

South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) offers activities and classes for youth through SoWashCo Community Education. Activities and classes are conveniently offered at your child's school, partner locations within our community and online.

Ages 2-8
Collaborate with fellow students to construct a city! Beginners and experienced Minecrafters alike will love this action-packed camp!
Grades 1-6
Take control of your present and future by understanding personal finance. Topics include stock market data and trading, IPO's, cryptocurrency markets, mutual funds, credit, banking and navigating employment.
Train with top players and compete in tournaments. Weekly lessons build skills and team strategy. Tryouts required.
Grade 1-12
Develop fundamental basketball skills in dribbling, passing, shooting and defense through drills and games. Ends with a scrimmage on the last day.
Grades K-5
Use glow-in-the-dark materials like clay and paint to create bright, imaginative art that glows in the dark and dazzles in the light.
Grade K-5
Join the chess club to meet and play with other players in your school. Learn the basics and strategies of chess. Tournament play is encouraged but not mandatory. Perfect for beginners and intermediates.
Grades 1-5
Kids are introduced to basketball through fun drills and mini-games focused on dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Parent participation required for ages 2-3 and recommended for 4+.
Ages 2-6
Gain a competitive edge on your opponents! This program will develop athletes’ speed, power, strength, mobility, agility and conditioning.
Grades 6-8
Goodbye winter boredom! Explore new drawing and storytelling projects that build artistic confidence and imagination through fun, guided lessons.
Grades K-5
Beginner, Ages 4-7: Athletes will focus on the fundamental positions, movements, and a select few moves from each position in wrestling.
Intermediate and Advanced, Grades 2-5: Athletes will focus on intermediate-to-advanced techniques, conditioning, and live wrestling needed for youth wrestling competitions.
A chance for kids to play games and also meet new friends in a fun after-school environment! The Intramural program is offered to students in grades 2-5 and runs for eight sessions for four weeks (2 days per week).
Grades 2-5
Develop strength, flexibility, problem-solving and coordination while learning how to master all obstacles!
Ages 5-13
Develop confidence, strength, endurance, balance, and friendships with a fun, unique sport! This course consists of 6 practices and 2 competitions.
Ages 6-13
Get one-on-one instruction to improve your trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, or tuba-playing skills! 30-minute time slots are available 3 p.m. through 6 p.m. Register for the time slot that best fits your schedule.

Families can begin registering for summer Kids Club at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26. Registration will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Requests from families already enrolled in Kids Club during the current school year will be reviewed and placed for enrollment with priority. The summer program is open to children who have completed grades K-5.
Registration for the 2026-27 school year Kids Club will be held in April.

High School
Community Education offers teen driver’s education in partnership with Safeway Driving School. Learn to be a safe and skillful driver.
Ages 14.5-18
Improve test-taking skills and overall ACT scores. Including an introduction to ACT format, subject ara instruction, test strategies, overcoming test anxiety and time management.
Grades 9-12
